A Relaxing Moment

The sun begins to set. The skies start to turn orange over the reefs. The cool wind breezes as I sat on the soft white sand under a coconut tree. The ocean whispers its gentle crashes along the shore and the bird’s chirp as they fly above the ocean that seems to glisten from the remaining sunlight. I hold my guitar and began to play a soft, mellow tune. As I played, I sang a song of paradise that made my soul feel free.

In the Filipino language, the word maganda is defined as “beautiful”. The Filipino’s use this word to describe something or someone beautiful. However, the word is usually used by men to describe ladies. Men say maganda when they see a lady that is attractive, but maganda is really meant to describe the lady’s heart. If the lady is sweet, kind, and thoughtful, she is maganda. So, maganda is a word to describe “beauty” not only in objects, but also to someone’s looks and most importantly, our soul.

"What I discovered on Columbus Day"

On Columbus day, I discovered that rainy weather makes me sleepy. On that day, I tried to do my homework but I went back to bed and took a nap. When I got up, I ate lunch and went back again for another nap. Later, I got up again and watched T.V. While I was watching T.V., it rained harder and the room got cooler so I fell asleep again. Before I slept I thought, what a great day to sleep! So I made a little discovery about myself.

What is Love?

According to the American Heritage Dictionary, Love is defined as a “ deep affection and warm feeling for another.” There are many things that build up love like romance, patience, commitment, loyalty, and sacrifices. Normally, we don’t feel like this to anybody but when you’re in love with someone, you would do anything even if it’s so crazy. Some people who fall deeply in love have all these words to say and have so many feelings to express, but they don’t know where to start with a conversation with someone they’re in love with or they don’t know how to react so they hide their feelings and pretend everything is the same.

My Favorite Holiday

On every October 31st, Halloween is celebrated. It is known for the night of the witches and ghosts. Everyone celebrates this day by wearing costumes and going house by house trick or treating and getting candy. It just seems fun to see alot of people walking with costumes. I enjoy wearing a mask for the fun of it. That is why Halloween is my favorite holiday.

My Favorite Movie

I enjoy watching movies, but the best kind of movies that I love to watch are kung fu movies. My favorite movie is “Unleashed” starring Jet Li. It is a great story about a man trained like a dog to kill people when his leash is taken off. This movie has many great action scenes and the fights are incredible! The story too is pretty interesting. I find the movie very entertaining. Once the DVD is out on sale, I’ll buy it for sure!

Hello, my name is Jesse Denoso Arriola Jr. I was born on November 8, 1987 in the Marianas islands. I live in the island of Saipan. I enjoy playing the guitar and listening to all kinds of music. I’m an easy-going person that hates having problems and just want to enjoy life. My height is five feet and six inches tall. My weight is one hundred and forty-five pounds. I have short black hair and brown eyes. I look kind of slim. I am currently a student at the Northern Marianas College. I just plan on taking Criminal Justice for a while but I am planning to join the army for some excitement in my life.
